Guide Dogs for the Blind
In 2010 San Rafael-based Guide Dogs for the Blind determined that a new dormitory where its clients would meet their future dogs and train on-site for a week was needed to replace the then existing facility which was antiquated.
After careful planning, designs were put forth for a state-of-art facility whose funding goal was $12.5M to be raised from high-net worth donors, foundations, and corporations with synergies to Guide Dogs.
Upon carefully planning out the capital campaign and structuring a phased approach, Cogeo's Managing Director of Consulting Services Rob Kusel worked with Vice President of Philanthropy Tom Horton and his staff to tactically engage all of the appropriate constituencies over a three-year period, leading to a final Campaign raise of $15M, $2.5M over goal.
Guide Dogs for the Blind is currently in another Capital Campaign, successfully raising funds for a new Puppy Center for its San Rafael Headquarters Campus: https://www.guidedogs.com/puppycenter
