COGEO Partners with NC Fusion to Strengthen Fundraising Ahead of Long-Term Growth Plans

Bermuda Run, NC — NC Fusion, a Triad-area youth sports organization serving thousands of athletes across soccer, field hockey, flag football, and adult soccer and lacrosse leagues, has retained COGEO as its fundraising counsel. The engagement is a commitment by NC Fusion to further professionalize their fundraising and development efforts while also addressing a key element of their current strategic plan.

Founded in 2018, but with a history of over 50 years through its legacy organizations, NC Fusion has grown into one of the region's largest multi-sport clubs, built around a mission of providing intentional experiences through sport to prepare people for “beyond the game” —including creating access to these experiences through its Beyond Sports Foundation —its leadership identified fundraising infrastructure as a priority.

Under this partnership, COGEO will advise NC Fusion's staff and board on annual giving strategy, prospect research, and donor engagement, while also laying the groundwork for future capital projects. The scope reflects COGEO's standard two-track model of near-term programmatic fundraising paired with long-range capital readiness.

"This is a pivotal moment for NC Fusion," said Patrick Sampsion, CEO at COGEO. "Real organizational maturity takes strong, committed leadership, from the boardroom to the front office. NC Fusion has a clear plan, capable leadership, and the resources needed to see this through. We are honored to be their partner, guiding and executing every step of the way as they work toward these goals."

The partnership is COGEO's latest engagement within the soccer and youth sports sector, an area where COGEO has built deep expertise advising clubs and community organizations through both programmatic and capital fundraising efforts.
